Local fashion brand, Everlane, has opened its first San Francisco store on Valencia Street in the Mission. Up until now, Everlane has built its brand by selling clothing online. After six years in business, it’s finally decided to debut its first flagship boutique.

Everlane’s specializes in simple basics made ethically. Their website’s mission statement explains it best: “At Everlane, we want the right choice to be as easy as putting on a great T-shirt. That’s why we partner with the best, ethical factories around the world. Source only the finest materials. And share those stories with you—down to the true cost of every product we make. It’s a new way of doing things. We call it Radical Transparency.”

Everlane applies their radical transparency concept to the new storefront as well. The boutique will have rotating factory installations where consumers can interact with the maker and learn about how a certain product is made. There is a returns bar, a dedicated counter for simply making returns where no wallet is required. Everlane will also host special events in store. For example, next Thursday, March 8 the founder, Michael Preysman, will host a conversation with Bi-Rite’s Sam Mogannam on how local communities influence business.

To celebrate the new store, Everlane threw an opening bash last night. Trick Dog served cocktails, Scribe poured wine, and the Tamale Lady handed out tamales. The young hip crowd mingled while trying on the chic separates. Local fashion influencers like jeweler, Emily P. Wheeler, and Hero Shop owner, Emily Holt, were in attendance checking out the sleek white space.

Everlane is now open at 461 Valencia Street.
