Animal cloning. Would you do it? Barbra Streisand has no quarrels doing so. In fact, she’s done it twice.
Her dog of 14-years, Samantha, died in 2017. Streisand revealed in an interview that her two new dogs, Miss Violet and Miss Scarlett, are clones of Samantha.
The clones were made possible through the process of cell samples that were taken from the deceased dog’s mouth and stomach.
While waiting for the arrival of the clones, her breeder brought Streisand another dog named Miss Fanny as a companion. However, instead of returning the dog after the clones arrived, she adopted it.
But, cloning her beloved Samantha isn’t enough. She’s patiently waiting for her cloned dogs to show signs of Samantha’s personality traits and more.
Streisand said, “They have different personalities. I’m waiting for them to get older so I can see if they have her brown eyes and her seriousness.”
Her cloned dogs, Miss Violet and Miss Scarlett, were named after the attire Streisand dressed them in, in order to tell them apart: red and lavender.
