According To Critics Fergie Butchered The National Anthem, Do You Agree?

America has a problem. More than one, actually, but most recently with Fergie. According to critics, she butchered the national anthem during the All-Star game.

Basketball players’ faces said it all.

The internet quickly, mercilessly, and ferociously criticized her too.

Los Angeles and the rest of America called Fergie’s  rendition of  “The Star-Spangled Banner” terrible and horrible.

Maybe the “Black Eyed Peas” singer was inspired by the late great Marilyn Monroe’s “Happy Birthday” serenade to President Kennedy.

Frankly, who cares. The takeaway for nearly everyone was an uncalled for attempt at a sultry performance.

America is many things but sultry is not one of them.

But, performing one of the country’s most important songs is not easy.

Neither is the pressure to make the song completely your own.

While America was quick to crucify Fergie, they forgot about the plenty other failed performances of the past.
