India Hicks Launches Skincare Collection

After a successful career designing collections of bath and beauty products, bedding and jewelry in partnership with others, India Hicks embarking on a new business venture. Hicks—the daughter of interior decorator David Hicks and Lady Pamela Hicks, who also happens to be the goddaughter the Prince of Wales (and was even a bridesmaid at his wedding to Princess Diana). has now created her own skincare line, Unexpected Beauty. The line is made with responsibly sourced, organic and natural plant-based ingredients thav delivers skin-enhancing results in less steps. The collection includes the Indispensable Cleanser, Uber Mist, Perfecting Polish + Mask, Supreme Cream, and the Lovely Balm. Unexpected Beauty products are for all skin types and is kid friendly, clinically and dermatologist tested, hypoallergenic, cruelty free, and made without the nasties (no parabens, PEGs, sulfates, mineral oil, petrolatum, phthalates, dyes, synthetic fragrance, or other harsh chemicals).

Says Hicks, “I’ve never been able to stick to a strict skincare regimen with a lot of steps. Who on earth truly has time for that? Luckily, I now learn that more is not necessarily better. With Unexpected Beauty, we’ve created a handful of products that address the essentials to good skincare. Each product is multi-tasking so it delivers high results in less steps. Something even I can stick with.”

She adds, “It’s never too late to start taking care of your skin. With the mad realization that I was turning 50, yes FIFTY, shouted in all caps, I realized it was time to get my butt moving, but everything available was either too simplistic or overly complicated. I knew as women age, they need a little extra help from their skincare to fight against the three causes of aging: genetics, lifestyle and environmental factors. So with the help of some industry legends we created a handful of beauty products. Our goal was to insure we were delivering products that were as natural as possible while providing results”

Here, this Royal legacy shares five steps for obtaining gorgeous, glowing skin.

1. Anti-aging is important to many women,understandnaly but I also liked the idea of healthy skin.Our Supreme Cream is a serum and moisturizer in one that promotes skins natural radiance and improves skins texture,
tone and health. Yep, it really is Supreme.

2. Cleansing is so underrated. Did you know that if you don’t cleanse properly anything you put on afterwards has to work twice as hard? I just learnt that after all these years. The whole purpose of a cleanser is to of course remove anything that needs to go, but to do it efficiently without stripping the skin. Our Indispensible Cleanser is a soap free formula that not only removes everything (makeup, sunscreen, even magic marker) but also rebalanceskin and leaves it fresh, soft and bouncy. Bouncy skin at 50 is what we pray for.

3. Tone after cleansing, mist a lot throughout the day, and then mist some more. It’s the easiest thing to do to keep your skin not only hydrated butenergized. Especially when flying on those horrendous Red Eye flights. Our Uber Mist does double duty. Use it after cleansing to tone and rebalance skin but then use it generously throughout the day to give skin a healthy, natural glow.

4. The key to looking fresh is to rejuvenate your skin. It sounds strange, but instead of applying more makeup before going out in the evening, take 10 minutes to take it all off and exfoliate.
