Emma Grede, along with her business partner Khloe Kardashian, took the fashion industry by storm in 2016 when they launched their denim line Good American. Their jeans have been killing it ever since thanks their ability to cater to women of all shapes and sizes.

We recently had the chance to catch up with Grede and we couldn’t resist asking her for her tips on finding the perfect pair of jeans, what it’s like working with Khloe, and where she likes to hangout in LA.

What are some of your favorite ways to style jeans?

Lately, I’ve been wearing our Good Straight style–a high waisted, straight-leg–and I usually pair it with a bodysuit or a fitted t-shirt. Usually, I’ll add a blazer or a duster coat since it’s been a bit cold. I’ve been traveling a lot so this is easy to throw on! I also really love small crossbody handbags. I just bought the Louis Vuitton Capucine bag in black.. It’s so chic and a classic piece.

What are your tips for finding the perfect fitting jeans for your body type?

There are so many options out there, so knowing what suits you is a good place to start. I only want high-waisted styles these days, as that’s what flatters my body type. Also, decide what you’re looking for before you actually start shopping. Do you need a basic blue update? Or, are you looking for something more fun with a good hem detail or embellishment? Make all those decisions before you get online then filter like a crazy person!

What’s it like working with Khloe Kardashian? What makes her a good business partner?

Working with Khloe is amazing. She works hard and she’s hands on. I think one of her best qualities is that she has a great understanding of what customers will respond to and she is also very driven. I have the utmost respect for her. It’s nice to work with someone who knows what they want and is determined to make things happen.

What’s next for Good American?

We have a line of maternity jeans launching in February called Good Mama. Stay tuned for more details!

You moved to LA not too long ago. How are you liking it so far? What are some of your favorite LA spots?

I’ve been loving it here! It’s a big change from London but it’s been nice to spend more time outside and explore the city. My kids love the weather. They want to be in the pool all the time. One of my favorite things to do is go to the beach in Malibu with my family and there’s a Soho house there too so I feel right at home! My favorite thing about America is probably SoulCycle, ha! I love the energy and music! And there’s not much that gets me out of my house for a 6am class. I’m very stuck in my ways, I eat at Craig’s and the restaurant at the Sunset Tower bar all the time. I’m also loving the Century City mall with Eataly there and Din Tai Fung about to open.
