All American Rejects Singer Tyson Ritter Shares His Haute Secrets

Tonight, Tyson Ritter is singing for a cause. That cause is Covenant House’s “Evening For Dreams” gala—a night of live music, food, drinks, and fun aims to raise funds for Covenant House, a non-profit whose mission is to support homeless and trafficked youth through a variety of programs and initiatives. This celebration and fundraiser will feature live musical performances by Covenant House California’s youth as well as a special performance by All-American Rejects frontman Ritter.

In addition to being incredibly giving, Ritter is a singer, model and actor, who made his film debut in the Anna Faris comedy, The House Bunny and his debut TV performance guest starring in an episode of House. Most recently, he appeared in the feature film Love & Mercy based on the life of reclusive Beach Boys songwriter and musician Brian Wilson starring Elizabeth Banks, Paul Dano and John Cusack, in addition to doing a two-season arc on NBC’s Parenthood and a recurring role in the Amazon series Betas. He is currently shooting Catherine Hardwicke’s Miss You Already starring Toni Colette and Drew Barrymore.

Best Italian: Via Vanetto – ravioli like fine lace

Best dessert: Magnolia Bakery – banana bread pudding that will make you into a creamy weakling

Best place for a romantic date: Griffith Park Observatory. I snuck a bottle of white wine and some nibbles up there on a first date and it was sublime. Right at sunset.

Best Sunday brunch: Lil’ Dom’s in Los Feliz

If you have out of town guests, which hotel would you recommend? Erwin Hotel in Venice. We do “stay-cations” here all the time. The rooftop bar gives you a front row seat to the setting California sun.

Best Spa: Spa Palace downtown.

Favorite Charity Event: Covenant House is doing a benefit show for troubled youths and I’m playing a couple acoustic songs this year for it. So I’d have to say that one.

Best Museum/Exhibit: Maybe not the best museum in LA, but The Broad will activate a sensory overload for those of you with a contemporary art bug.
