“The curvaceous structural exoskeleton design appears to grow out of the ground reaching towards the sky and fits perfectly as the centerpiece to the skyline overlooking Miami’s Museum Park,” says Louis Birdman, co-developer of residential skyscraper One Thousand Museum. While the Magic City is known for harboring diverse artistic movements and cutting-edge trends, a residential skyscraper that is a hybrid of art and architecture is a first for the on-the-pulse of creativity city Miamians call home.

Rising 62 stories, One Thousand Museum by Zaha Hadid Architects is the innovative brainchild of the late dame Zaha Hadid, bolstering her international portfolio of world-class buildings with this 950,000-square-foot ultra-luxury tower. Hadid’s designs are trademarked for pushing the boundaries of innovation with sensuous forms and one-of-a-kind visions. Within Hadid’s final architectural foray, One Thousand Museum residents don’t have to reach for the sky for lux amenities: With an uber-amenitized penthouse, their hautest desires are one elevator ride away.

“Residents will enjoy spectacular amenities such as a well-appointed two-story fitness center and wellness spa overlooking the outdoor sun and swim deck at the top of the building podium on levels 8 and 9,” says Birdman. “The amenities also include a two-story penthouse amenity area on levels 60 and 61 that houses a private event space and lounge on level 60 as well as an indoor aquatic center on level 61, which holds an indoor infinity-edge lap pool overlooking the city.”

Broadening the features of a typical Miami condo, One Thousand Museum houses an intimate private dining room and theater on the penthouse amenity floor 60. Even more, Miami’s first-ever private residential helipad will stamp the top of the skyscraper, providing the quintessence of luxury living. Birdman says that One Thousand Museum is even building a private bank quality vault on the property to provide residents with individual, private safe-deposit boxes within the tower. One Thousand Museum exudes contemporary elegance and provides residents with amenities of the highest caliber.

Within the 83 private residences, the units are appointed with custom Italian lacquered kitchens by Poliform featuring Gaggenau appliances, with bathroom cabinetry and finely crafted closets also by Poliform, as well as Italian crafted lacquered doors by Lualdi. The interiors of One Thousand Museum residences aim to provide the utmost of taste and comfort with Italian porcelain flooring and plumbing fixtures by Duravit and Dornbracht. The residences feature oversized, outdoor terraces and the residences are carefully curated with east-to-west flow-through floor plans to capture sweeping, breathtaking views highlighted by spectacular Miami sunrises and sunsets. In addition to the opulent living, the residential tower is reported to be one of Miami’s most secure residential towers with top-of-the-line surveillance systems and highly attentive staff.

One Thousand Museum has a limited number of available residences remaining with half-floor residences from 4,635-square-feet to 4,840-square-feet priced from $5.8 million to $7.8 million; Duplex Townhome residences of approximately 8,400-square-feet priced from $12 million to $14 million; Full Floor Residences of approximately 10,400-square-feet priced from $18 million to $20 million; and a Duplex Penthouse unit that is over 20,000-square-feet and priced at $49 million,” Birdman says.

According to Birdman, the building’s architecture is meant to draw in people who have an appreciation for both art and luxury. With its exoskeleton design, the architectural marvel is more than a residential skyscraper—it’s an addition to Miami’s rich cache of contemporary art. Giving the iconic Miami skyline a makeover, One Thousand Museum is built with “sensuous” curves with a shape that traces organically shaped pools and myriad of terraces, molding outdoor rooms for every residence. The structure of the building is complemented by the crystallizing glass façade and stunning landscape terraces designed by Enzo Enea.

While the building itself can cause any mouth to fall agape, location is everything. Adjacent to Museum Park, the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, and the American Airlines Arena, home to the Miami Heat basketball team, One Thousand Museum is undeniably nestled in the nexus of Miami’s most remarkable hot spots. With Biscayne Boulevard and the Miami Design District’s luxury shops so close, whenever residents need to satisfy their shopping or cuisine fixes, they won’t need to venture far. From Wynwood Art District to South Beach and a string of up-and-coming museums, the Magic City is constantly pirouetting into different trends and artistic movements, ushering in new cultures along the way—a fact that makes One Thousand Museum more than a perfect fit for the urban epicenter that is Miami.

This towering residential masterpiece was Pritzker Prize-winning Hadid’s endeavor to make a lasting impression on a dynamic city; it’s already evident that the 62-story tower will cement an enduring legacy. “Miami was a city that Zaha Hadid called a home away from home,” Birdman says. “One Thousand Museum is helping to continue the dialogue, fortifying that Miami has become a true global city and an international hub for business, art and culture.”
