Every day is a special occasion at Top of the Hub, but New Year’s Eve is done up in haute style here. Located on the 52nd floor of the Prudential Tower, you won’t get a better view of Boston than this Back Bay favorite. There are two seating options on New Year’s Eve – one offering a four-course prix fixe menu between 5 and 6 p.m. and a second hosting a five-course prix fixe dinner between 8 and 9:45 p.m. Live jazz will also be performed by The Gabriela Martina Band starting at 8:30 p.m. (A brunch will also be served New Year’s Day starting at 11 a.m.)

Is there a hauter place to ring in the New Year than the Ritz-Carlton? We thought not. Over at Artisan Bistro, they will be hosting a haute celebration complete with lots of champagne to choose from. The regular dinner menu will be available offering steak frites (theirs is made even better with an 11-ounce ribeye), baked cod with chorizo puttanesca and hand rolled ricotta gnocchi with brown butter, sage and wild mushrooms. On New Year’s Day, come for the build-your-own Bloody Mary bar and stay for the brunch to ring in the New Year in style.

The Bristol

The picture-postcard view of the Public Garden can be found from any seat at The Bristol tucked inside the Four Seasons Hotel Boston. This Back Bay haute spot has been a favorite of politicians, celebrities and deal makers, but on New Year’s Eve, the party kicks off at 8:30 p.m. with a three-course dinner featuring everything from black trumpet cannelloni; and crab and lobster bisque to a pan seared halibut filet; and surf and turf of a petite filet with jumbo lump crab cake.

Meritage Restaurant + Wine Bar

Even in the wintertime, Bostonians love celebrating holidays near the water. If you are like us, be sure to book a reservation at Meritage, Chef Daniel Bruce’s acclaimed waterfront restaurant. Tucked inside the Boston Harbor Hotel on Rowes Wharf, Meritage is hosting two seatings on New Year’s Eve – the first one, a five-course dinner between 5 and 6:30 p.m. along with a second five-course dinner between 7:30 and 10 p.m. Look for dishes like caviar blini bites, chilled foie gras, lobster, mushroom risotto and a tomahawk steak for two. Each dinner can also be paired wine for an unforgettable experience.
