Over the weekend, the streets of St. Helena and Yountville felt like Los Angeles—celebrities were everywhere!— as the region celebrated the seventh annual Napa Valley Film Festival. The five day event featured countless screenings, award ceremonies, Q&As, tastings, and dinners. Things got started last week at Meadowood where the competing filmmakers of the Artists-in-Residence Program met with their mentors and faculty members. This is a special group of producers, distributors, and directors including TJ. Martin, Todd Harris, and Mark Borde, who guide the young filmmakers during their time at the festival.

On Wednesday night, November 8, the festival officially opened with a screening of The Upside attended by Tate Donovan. Actor David Arquette and director Brandon Dickerson chatted about their film, Amanda & Jack Go Glamping, after its screening on the same evening. Thursday night several celebrities were honored by various wineries and presented with oversized bottles of wine. At this event, Natalie Morales was in conversation with Nancy Meyers (Legendary Filmmaker Award), as well as actors Michael Shannon (Trailblazer Tribute), Michael Stuhlbarg (Spotlight Tribute), Tessa Thompson (Trailblazer Tribute) and couple Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder (Jameson Animal Rescue Ranch Humanitarian Tribute).

The following day Will Ferrell was celebrated and on Saturday, the work of young rising stars Ana de Armas, Odeya Rush, Austin Stowell, Gregg Sulkin, Analeigh Tipton, and Alex Wolff was highlighted. Also on Saturday? The screening of Izzy Gets The Fuck Across Town, a movie that stars Mackenzie Davis, Haley Joel Osment, Sarah Goldberg, and Sheldon Bailey. All of the actors were on hand and participated in a panel with director Christian Papierniak after the show. That evening was the Gala and a whole slew of celebrities including Pierce Bronson, Lea Thompson, Judy Greer, Giancarlo Esposito, and Jason Ritter, made cameos at the party.
