Last week the Consul General of Italy, Lorenzo Ortona, and his wife, Sheila, hosted an event in honor of Nicola Luisotti, the outgoing musical director of the San Francisco Opera. The festival farewell party included multiple toasts that thanked Luisotti for his cultural contribution to the Italian community. Beloved Italian restaurant Perbacco catered the event and they served Luisotti’s favorite dish, mushroom risotto. Among the seventy guests who raised a glass to the Luisottis were Keith and Prisca Geeslin, Paul Pelosi, Jane Mudge and Matthew Shivlock.
