Rick De La Croix’s Blowout 50th Birthday In Mykonos

As the summer wound toward an amber finish, Rick De La Croix reached a coveted milestone.

The watch executive turned 50 – and feted it accordingly. De La Croix gathered hundreds of family and friends, including watch executives and international stars, on the Greek island of Mykonos to celebrate his birthday. The jolly assembly enjoyed a packed roster of events, which included unforgettable performances by Nicky Jam, Boy George, Julian Perretta and Paul Oakenfold.

“My family, my friends, you are the real #rockstars for coming tens of thousands of miles to spend a week with me in the most incredible destination,” De La Croix captioned an Instagram post of his birthday getaway.

Organized by Haute Living, a slew of De La Croix’s close friends, who could not join him in Greece, composed a special birthday video for him, which delights with its mix of witty jokes and heartfelt wishes. Some of the prominent people who appear in the clip included football legend Pele, Jerry Jones, owner and president of the Dallas Cowboys, DJ Khaled as well as the rock band, KISS. Many expressed their gratitude to De La Croix for his relentless support of culture, arts and sports.

“I want to wish you a Happy Birthday and hope you celebrate this day with your family and friends,” said AS Monaco footballer, Radamel Falcao. “The truth is I am proud I met you and to have you as a friend. You are a great professional but you are a better person and all that you have achieved with your family is something to learn from.”

Fitting with De La Croix’s birthday bash, Hublot released a limited-edition Mykonos Classic Fusion 2017, whose blue-and-white aesthetic pays tribute to the island’s scenery. The new 45mm model comes in titanium and King Gold.
