The Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation is hosting the 25th annual Pool Toss at the Phoenix Hotel/Chambers Eat + Drink on Wednesday, October 11. Over the years, this wacky pool party has raised almost $5 million for the organization’s youth and family programs serving more than 4,000 low-income individuals who call the Tenderloin home. Confirmed tosses include Jessica Silverman, the owner of the Jessica Silverman Gallery, Richard Tran, the mayor of Milpitas, and politician Mark Leno.

CUESA, the Center for Urban Education and Sustainable Agriculture and the team behind the Ferry Building’s famed farmers markets, is throwing their 15th annual Sunday Supper on October 15. The food-lovers fundraiser supports CUESA’s free education programs for kids, which inspire children to eat more fruits and vegetables. 35 of the city’s best chefs (Kim Alter of Nightbird, Tony Florian of Seven Hills, and Mark Sullivan of Spruce to name a few) will come together to cook a four-course feast. The event takes place at the Ferry Building and tickets include a pre-dinner reception with cocktails and appetizers.

On Wednesday, October 11, H. Joseph Ehrmann, one of the city’s top mixologists, is hosting a home bartending class on autumnal punches at his Mission District watering hole, Elixir. During the three-hour class you’ll learn how to stock and set up a home bar and discover easy formulas for great cocktail construction. Cheers!

Valentino is presenting the first ever UNICEF Gala San Francisco at the Ritz-Carlton this Saturday, October 7. Goodwill ambassador Ishmael Beah will be honored for his work to put children first. A virtual reality bar with unique experiences will showcase UNICEF’s work in the field. It promises to be a thrilling evening.
