Kevin Spacey does not remember the encounter, but wants you to know the allegations encouraged him to admit that he is gay.

Actor Anthony Rapp, who was 14-years-old in 1986, recalls a time after a performance on a Broadway show when Kevin Spacey, 26, invited him to his apartment for a party and allegedly ended up being sexually assaulted by the House of Cards actor. In an interview with BuzzFeed News, Rapp describes Spacey picking him up and placing Rapp on top of his bed, then climbing on top of him and making “sexual advances.” Spacey posted his apology to Rapp via Twitter saying he did not remember the encounter.

“But if I did behave then as he describes, I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior…,” Spacey wrote.

In his apology, Spacey admits to years of rumours about his attraction to the same sex.

“This story has encouraged me to address other things about my life. I know that there are stories out there about me and that some have been fueled by the fact that I have been so protective of my privacy. As those closest to me know, in my life I have had relationships with both men and women. I have loved and had romantic encounters with men throughout my life, and I choose now to live as a gay man,” Spacey shared in his Twitter statement.

Netflix has confirmed that “House of Cards,” will end following its sixth season.
