For those car lovers out there, this was your weekend. Chateau Elan held the 2017 Atlanta Concours d’Elegance on Saturday September, 30 and Sunday, October 1, 2017. This rare luxury car event featured a rare multi-million dollar collection of classic automobiles and vintage motorcycles displayed amidst the charm of the 3500 acre estate of the gorgeous Chateau Elan in Georgia.

Car collectors who brought out their registered babies got the chance to have their car’s health analyzed by a new innovative Alpharetta-based company VehicleDNA. VehicleDNA is an engine and transmission testing company that provides a complete analysis of all engine and transmission fluids, giving collector car owners the reassurance of knowing the current health of their vehicle.According to Bill Wallet, co-chairman for the Atlanta Concours, embracing technology throughout the hobby of car collecting is a real must.
“Integrating new technologies or processes that can have a significant impact on car collectors and the automotive industry in general helps to keep the passion alive and allows each vehicle to continue to thrive,” said Wallet. “By identifying potential problems while maintaining, repairing and restoring classics, owners can be reassured of a longer life plan for their collections and we can play a role in furthering these legacies.”
Featured partners for the weekend included many businesses including Atlanta Classic Cars, Ferrari and Maserati of Atlanta, Panoz, Bentley of Atlanta, duPont Registry, Tesla, Porsche and Motorcars of Georgia. Panoz said, via their Facebook, that some of the coolest cars this weekend were the 1950 Healey Silverstone Roadster and the 1956 Arnott 1100 Sports Climax. This is a truly unique race car and it is believed to the only race car designed and manufactured by a woman, Daphne Arnott.

A new addition to the Atlanta event was the addition of a true classic motorcycle experience including two judging fields of pre and post war-motorcycle. John Landstrom, owner of Blue Moon Cycle in Norcross, GA and a highly regarded classic motorcycle collector and enthusiast curated this collection.
Saturday night, many people attended the “Decades Club” party at Chateau Elan Winery & Resort. Speakeasy club decor, cocktails, dessert, dancing and a live auction benefiting Atlanta Community ToolBank. Bob Varsha was honored that evening as an legendary motorsports announcer and the voice of F1 in the United States.
It was truly a weekend for people to enjoy and appreciate the fine cars of the world. From some of the oldest mode cars (many very rare) to ones not yet on the market (like the Mercedes below), there was truly something for everyone at the Atlanta Concours this weekend.
To bring the two-day event to a close was the announcement of the winners of The Atlanta Concours d’Elegance Competition. Over 150 museum quality automobiles were featured in this show and competition. To learn more about this fabulous visit the site.
