Tiffany & Co. has recently announced a new initiative to benefit the Elephant Crisis Fund (ECF). The Save the Wild collection is a partnership with Save the Elephants, the Wildlife Conservation Network, and the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation. Model Doutzen Kroes is the face of the campaign. Tiffany will donate all proceeds of the Save the Wild collection to the ECF. The pretty pieces are 18k rose gold charms and brooches with diamonds and sterling silver accented with tsavorites. The tsavorites are what make the jewelry coveted collectables—Tiffany introduced the stone in 1974 after it was discovered near the Tsavo National Park in Kenya, which is home to many of the African elephants the fund is trying to protect.

Tiffany first joined with the ECF last year by supporting the nonprofit’s fashion-focused #knotonmyplanet campaign in which influencers, such as Kroes, promised to never forget elephants and help end the underground trafficking of ivory. A shocking number of elephants are killed in the wild each year—30,000!—and Tiffany has pledged to combat poachers with this collection that is available worldwide. With Tiffany behind its cause, the ECF is confident it can make impactful changes. “Elephants are in crisis, beset by the ivory trade. The challenges are global and complex, and to secure a future for elephants we need an alliance that spans continents and sectors. The support of Tiffany & Co. and industry colleagues could be a game changer,”  Frank Pope, the CEO of Save The Elephants said in a statement. “By donating all profits from their exclusive collection of elephant charms and brooches to the ECF, Tiffany & Co. are making an important commitment to protect one of the greatest icons of the natural world. May their leadership prove infectious.”

Since its inception 180 years ago, Tiffany has supported the environment in one way or another. The natural world has long been a source of inspiration for Tiffany designers and is the source of the precious materials and gemstones that form their iconic jewels. In the past, Tiffany has protected marine ecosystems by speaking out against the use of coral in jewelry, helped relocate black rhinos, and last year, they joined a coalition of companies who have pledged to stop the demand for illegal wildlife products. “Tiffany has historically used the power of its brand and voice to speak on important issues like wildlife conservation,” Anisa Kamadoli Costa, the chief sustainability officer at Tiffany said. “In particular, Tiffany has long been dedicated to the environmental, social and economic well-being of Africa, where we source many of our rough diamonds and operate state-of-the-art diamond cutting and polishing workshops.” Find the elephant collection in Tiffany stores now and gift to the elephant lover in your life.
