Last week, Futures Without Violence hosted Big Little Night, an event inspired by the HBO hit series, Big Little Lies. Actor Nicole Kidman, who won an Emmy for her portrayal of a character who suffers from domestic abuse in the show, was honored. Kidman discussed the physical and mental challenges of playing a battered wife and Silicon Valley executive, Neha Rastogi, shared her personal story of surviving a ten-year violent marriage. Before the program, five of SF’s top female chefs (Dominique Crenn, Kathy Fang, Traci Des Jardins, Tonya Holland, and Gabriela Camara) served appetizers.

Patrick Herning and Kathryn Retzer celebrated the launch of their new fashion website, 11 Honoré, at a shopping event at Park Tavern last week. 11 Honoré is an online destination that features larger sizes from international luxury designers. It’s a size-inclusive shopping experience with separates, dresses, evening gowns, and jackets by Adam Lippes, Brandon Maxwell, Marchesa, Prabal Gurung, and more. The Eden Room was set up like a atelier with browsable looks from the 11 Honoré collection. Notable guests in attendance were Komal Shah, Katie and Todd Traina, and Katie Paige.
Down in Palo Alto at Stanford’s
Cantor Arts Center, Deedee and Burt McMurtry were honored at Rodin by Moonlight. The elegant event featured a dinner in the museum’s Rodin Sculpture Garden cooked by
Perbacco’s
Staffan Terje in partnership with
Paula le Duc Fine Catering. After the meal, guests danced under the stars until midnight. The proceeds from the evening benefit the Cantor’s educational programming and ensures that the museum is free to the public.
