Labor Day Weekend Recap: Kendrick Lamar, Jeezy And More Party In Miami

For those who stayed in the Magic City for Labor Day Weekend, or for out-of-towners visiting, it provided the perfect playground to celebrate the holiday for three days and three nights. Here’s a look at some of the weekend highlights:

KENDRICK LAMAR AT AMERICAN AIRLINES ARENA

The Damn Tour—one of the most hyped-up tours of the year—completed its final stop in Miami on Saturday evening. Kendrick Lamar, who recently took home the most awards out of any other nominated artist at MTV’s 2017 VMA’s, also winning the coveted prize of the night for his hit song, “Humble,” as video of the year, brought in a sold-out crowd for the affair. The talented artist saved the best for last as he reportedly gave, “the concert of the year,” at Miami’s American Airlines Arena. It was certainly a night to remember.  


 

D.R.A.M. AFTER PARTY AT STORY

Following the legendary performance, the Damn Tour took their after party to Miami nightclub mecca STORY, hosted by Damn Tour opener D.R.A.M. The night was one for the books, stretching to the wee hours of the morning with endless flowing bottles of champagne, beats by DJ Ross One and guest appearances and performances by the stars of the tour.


 

JEEZY AT ROCKWELL

At the other South Beach nightlife destination, celeb-favorite Rockwell welcomed in a completely full house as fans packed the haute club to see rapper Jeezy perform on the stage. He did not disappoint, belting out crowd favorites to keep everyone on their feet with his magnetic energy all night long.


 

JENCARLOS CANELA AT STORY MIAMI

The nightclub took on a Latin theme to celebrate a memorable Sunday night party with Latin singer and heartthrob, Jencarlos Canela at STORY with Alex Sensation & Friends. The change of music genre was welcome as Miamians flocked to the nightclub ready to dance the rest of the weekend away.


 

ACE HOOD ALBUM RELEASE PARTY AT ROCKWELL

Rockwell closed out the weekend with another star-studded event as rapper Ace Hood hosted his Trust the Process album release party that evening. The rapper gave a high-energy performance that left the crowd ready to party as flaming bottles of Dom Perignon made their way to the packed tables at the club. The ever-popular Rockwell Mondays party was the perfect way to close out an action-packed holiday weekend.
