Miami is heading back into its busy season, and we could not be more excited for one reason in particular: more food! Every season, Miami debuts the hottest new restaurants in the city and this year’s upcoming announcements do not disappoint thus far.

SALT BAE TO OPEN MIAMI RESTAURANT

Internet sensation, Nusret Gökçe, also more widely known as Salt Bae, has announced that he will be opening his first Miami restaurant in the Brickell Avenue space previously occupied by Coya. While news broke out earlier this year that the famed chef known for sprinkling salt in the air and expertly slicing meats would open a restaurant in New York City in the Fall 2017, it’s now looking like Miami might be the first U.S. location. Word has it that he’s already been in town hiring staff and overseeing the restaurant renovation. So, if you’re looking to grab that selfie with the viral Internet sensation, you know where to find him.

Also nearby, Chef Daniel Boulud’s team has made an announcement that is slightly bittersweet. The exciting news—the James Beard Award-winning chef will be opening his newest restaurant, Boulud Sud, this December. The new restaurant is a Mediterranean concept that originally launched in 2011 on New York’s Upper West Side. The unique cuisine highlights flavors of coastal cuisine from Côte d’Azur Spain, Italy, Greece, Morocco, Tunisia, Lebanon Turkey and beyond. The restaurant will also feature an energetic lounge and bar, appealing to the young professionals and creatives of downtown Miami. The kitchen will be helmed by Executive Chef Clark Bowen, who has been with the team for seven years, along with Pastry Chef Saeko Nemoto. Now for the less exciting news? Boiled Sud will be opening in place of the current db Bistro Moderne restaurant downtown. So, if you’re looking to get a last taste of chef Boulud’s scrumptious French bistro cuisine—or the famous db Burger—we suggest you do so within the next week. The restaurant will be closing for renovations after its final dinner service on Saturday, September 30th.
