The Pelle Tessuta Approach With Ermenegildo Zegna

In this day and age, it seems like you’re either an innovator disrupting the status quo or a heritage brand standing on a firm foundation of years of craftsmanship. It’s a precious few that can combine the two in a meaningful way, but storied house Ermenegildo Zegna seems to have found the intersection. Dialing down and concentrating on the fabrics that made Zegna famous, the brand focused on innovating construction without neglecting traditional methods for their Fall accessories collection, Pelle Tessuta.

Pelle Tessuta ™ Triple stich Sneaker

Building on over 100 years of quality construction in the Alpine foothills near Biella, Italy, Zegna has revolutionized a new fabrication from nappa leather. Weaving the thin leather strands on the brand’s traditional looms has created a pliable and super soft leather “fabric” perfect for loafers, belts, bags and wallets. A stand out from the inventive collection is the slip-on sneaker. The woven leather elevates the casual footwear from standard errand running shoe to outfit focal point. And paired with a Zegna jacket and dark denim, the Pelle Tessuta sneaker takes that extra style step.

Nappa strips are placed on loom replicating the traditional method of weaving cloth to obtain a real “fabric” from leather.
