You might be hard pressed to find a prettier lunch spot complete with a creekside view in Sedona than Etch Kitchen & Bar tucked inside the luxe L’Auberge de Sedona. Located on Oak Creek, the relaxed restaurant provides the perfect respite from a day spent in Sedona’s beautiful Red Rock Country. Request an outdoor creekside table for lunch al fresco where you will dine under a canopy of stunning sycamores.

Try a Spiked Peach Tea made with Knob Creek Rye, peach blossom black tea, chili and peach simple syrup, thyme and lemon bitters mist or a Pom Margarita to get the afternoon started right. The unparalleled views from this leafy oasis with the natural background music of a free-flowing creek provided the perfect escape we needed to relax and unwind.

Our server, Victor, recommended we try the The Butcher & Cow and we were glad he did. A massive board of cured meats arrived with artisan cheese samplings, pickle relish, toasted noble and beautifully hand carved fruits. There is no pressure here, so take your time savoring every last bite while enjoying the natural scenery of this luxury retreat.

Move onto an order of black mussels with roasted garlic, Meyer lemon, a splash of ginger chardonnay, curry essence and tarragon. (Be sure to save some of the crusty bread for absorbing every last savory drop of the tasty sauce).

For main events, try the Shaken Cobb, a fresh combination of young romaine leaves and radicchio, slow roasted chicken breast, heirloom tomatoes, bacon nuggets, smoked cheddar cheese, boiled egg, charred corn kernels and avocado ranch dressing that was shaken tableside and served. The Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl was another standout filled with ahi tuna, brown rice (warmed upon request), crushed cashews, avocado smear, green onions, cucumber jicama and sesame seeds.

Etch Kitchen & Bar is the more casual sibling to Cress on Oak Creek’s fine dining restaurant, which is also located at L’Auberge de Sedona.
