Quick Hits: Shore Club Set for North Avenue Beach

Restaurant at Shore Club

Castaways might be a summertime staple on North Avenue Beach, but soon it won’t be the only option for beach-goers looking to grab a bite (or a cocktail) mid-sunbathe. Shore Club, a multi-million dollar restaurant/bar/lounge concept, is set to open between the lakeshore trails at the edge of the beach (1603 N Lakeshore Dr.) on August 1.

The upscale space offers floor-to-ceiling windows and (of course) views of the Lake, and promises its guests a vacation-like vibe alongside its Mediterranean-inspired fare. The menu’s standouts seem to be seafood, with options like grilled baby octopus, grilled shrimp with coconut curry glaze, and poke tuna served in a bowl made of ice, but it also offers lighter salad and sandwich options, too. Perhaps the most enticing reason to stop in from the sand, however, is Shore Club’s cocktail program. Think vacation-in-a-glass options like Frosé All Day, made with vodka, rosé and peach puree, or the Beach Party, a combination of cucumber-infused vodka, pineapple, lime, jalapeno and sparkling wine, which can be ordered in either a giant copper pineapple or a flamingo. (Don’t forget to snap a shot for Instagram).

The restaurant will be broken into three distinct areas: The Patio at Shore Club, The Restaurant at Shore Club, and The Oasis at Shore Club.

Shore Club will be open Monday through Friday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and for a weekly, ticketed Shore Club Brunch from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The venue is open to 21+ and minors accompanied by a legal guardian. Shirts and shoes are required.
