Monday is National Tequila Day, so to celebrate in proper imbibing style, we have rounded up five of the best places to get your tequila fix on. From a haute new restaurant opening to an ever expanding Seaport favorite that serves up spicy margaritas, here’s a look at where you will want to be.

1 Venezia

Venezia
You might not expect to find a Mexican favorite at an Italian restaurant, but Venezia has rolled out the red carpet for National Tequila Day introducing the exclusive Hibiscus Margarita. Their haute version comes complete with infused 100 percent agave tequila with Cointreau, lime juice, and a splash of sour mix. The cocktail is served with a sugar rim complemented with a hibiscus flower. We recommend enjoying the cocktail al fresco on the patio that overlooks the harbor with spectacular views of the Boston skyline.

2 Loco Taqueria & Oyster Bar

Loco Taqueria & Oyster Bar
There always seems to be something fun going on at Loco. This summer, to cool down during the hot temps, head here for their Tequila Popsicles served in a spiked seltzer. Loco offers 88 different tequila and 17 mezcals to choose from. If you aren’t sure what you would like, just ask Beverage Director Kaitlyn to create a specialty concoction like the Buck Nasty, a mezcal-based cocktail that combines mescal, lime, sugar, banana liquor, and ginger beer or try a flight of tequila like the Tour de Mexico: Chinaco Blanco, Corralejo Blanco and Casamigos Blanco. On Mondays, they feature a signature margarita as a part of their Margarita Monday special (past features Rose Watermelon Margarita).

3 Temazcal Tequila Cantina

Temazcal Tequila Cantina
Temazcal Tequila Cantina in the Seaport District, best known for its collection of over 250 tequila varieties, recently opened its third location in Burlington with plans to open another one in Dedham early fall (another is in Lynnfield). We can’t get enough of the spiced up En Fuego Margarita made with jalapeno-infused tequila, Patron Citronage, fresh lime juice, blood orange puree and agave nectar. For a sweeter version, try the Besos Margarita made with Agavales silver, St. Elder, fresh lemon juice, basil and strawberry puree. Pair it up with a side of empanadas, ceviche, taquitos or our favorite - lobster guacamole.

4 Yellow Door Taqueria

Yellow Door Taqueria
There is no better way to celebrate National Tequila Day than with a haute new opening and that’s just what the Cali-Mex taco-centric Yellow Door Taqueria is doing. The former antique shop turned taqueria is being run by Executive Chef Colton Coburn-Wood, who is also a co-owner alongside partners Brian O’Donnell & Dropkick Murphy’s frontman, Ken Casey, whose other venues include Lower Mills Tavern, Lion’s Tail and McGreevys. The neighborhood restaurant will serve a rotating roster of seasonal Cali-Mex inspired tacos, ceviche and salads with a New England flair that will taste even better with a south of the border inspired cocktail like a frozen fruity margarita.

At this Back Bay urban tavern, you might not expect a reason to come here for National Tequila Day, but when you try their specialty “Pink Pill” (blanco tequila, rhubarb & vanilla cordial, Barolo chianto, lime, peychauds), you’ll be glad you came here. Located in the Clarendon Building, the site of the former Back Bay Post Office Annex, the restaurant focuses on locally sourced dishes so pair it up with a shared plate of herb stuffed buratta or foie gras torchon Millefuille to get the evening started right.
