Street-turned-fine-artist, JonOne, has gained world-wide recognition for his lively graffiti since his discovery. His unique and well-known work makes it no surprise that he was asked to be the seventh, and most recent, collaborator in an ongoing series of partnerships between Hennessy V.S and established international artists. As a result, JonOne created a vibrant design for the “Very Special” bottle, which was released just this month.
In celebration of Hennessey’s collaboration with JonOne, an intimate luncheon was hosted at Cafeina Wynwood Lounge honoring the graffiti artist. Miami’s artistic mecca, Wynwood, ended his multi-city U.S tour, which also included stops in New York, Los Angeles, and Austin, that formally recognized his creation and spoke of its production. A select group of Miami media participated in an intimate conversation with JonOne as he recalled his artistic journey from tagging his name Jon156 on the walls and trains in his native Harlem, New York at age 17, to the discovery of his 156 All Starz Collective, to his artistic career now, which sets records at auctions for graffiti art.
To conclude the eventful day, JonOne later hosted the Hennessy V.S Limited Edition by JonOne launch party at Cafeina. Boldface names in attendance included Miami-based hip-hop artists, Fat Joe and Ace Hood and Miami Heat’s James Johnson.
As his attendees honored the new bottle, they sipped on lots of Hennessy in the form of artist-inspired cocktails and listened to the beats by world-famous DJ Ruckus. As a special treat, JonOne lit up the venue by live-painting an art piece with bright and rich colors.
