Just in time for NeoCon to descend on Chicago next week, DMK Restaurant Group, Vornado Realty Trust and TheMart are set to launch Marshall’s Landing, a new 12,000 square-foot multi-use restaurant, lounge and event venue on the second floor of the Merchandise Mart adjacent to the Grand Stair. The space, which officially opens June 9, takes its name from iconic Chicago retailer and developer Marshall Field.

With it’s “hight quality menu offerings served in a casual atmosphere,” Marshall’s Landing aims to bridge a gap in the existing dining experiences for the Mart’s tenants and neighbors, which until now consisted of casual carry-out options like Potbelly and Protein bar, or the formal sit-down style of Nick’s Fishmarket. At their new venture, DMK Restaurants’ partners David Morton and Chef Michael Kornick will serve-up a seasonally inspired menu–snacks included Crispy Calamari and Tuna Poke and Rice, as well as larger plates including a Forest Mushroom Bruschetta, Chopped Chicken Salad, Cheddar Burger, and Kellogg Corn Flake Fried Chicken–along with artisanal coffee, and a full-service bar with craft cocktails.

Mashall’s Landing will also offer private event rentals, catering services both to Mart tenants as well as surrounding neighborhoods, and will host an ongoing program of curated events using the large projection screen by the Grand Stair, like movie nights with special food and beverage pairings.
