If you haven’t made plans for Memorial Day weekend, it’s time to start thinking about how you’re going to spend next Friday through Monday. We’ve got five fantastic options, listed below, for you to consider.

1 BottleRock Napa Valley

The biggest thing happening in the Bay Area over Memorial Day weekend is Napa’s very own music festival, BottleRock. The Foo Fighters, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and Maroon 5 are the headliners, but there are a bunch of awesome musicians taking part in the three day event that starts at 12 noon on Friday, May 26. Presented by Jam Cellars, BottleRock features a sensational mixture of music, food, wine, and fun. Many of the valley’s top eateries—like La Toque, Bouchon Bakery, and Morimoto—are serving food and over 25 local wineries and breweries each will ensure that no festival goers are thirsty. Plus, there is a culinary stage where chefs like Martha Stewart and José Andrés will be performing cooking demonstrations.

2 Carnaval

On Saturday and Sunday, May 27 and 28, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. the Mission District will transform for the 39th annual Carnaval San Francisco. Traditions from Brazil, Mexico, Puerto Rico, West Africa, Cuba, and Guatemala collide at California’s largest outdoor multicultural celebration. This year’s theme is El Corazon de San Pancho, the heart of San Francisco. The event takes place on Harrison between 16th and 24th Streets and features food, music, dance, arts, crafts, and a lively parade.

3 Giants Games

Although the season is off to a slow start, there is nothing like a good day at the ballpark. Brandon Crawford and the San Francisco Giants will be home for Memorial Day weekend. Friday to Sunday, they will be playing the Atlanta Braves at 7:15 p.m. on Friday, 7:05 p.m. on Saturday, and 1:05 p.m. on Sunday. Monday the boys play the Nationals at 1:05 p.m and the first 20,000 fans inside AT&T Park will receive a free Memorial Day cooler bag presented by PG&E.

4 Family Builders Gala

Family Builders is a local organization that helps find permanent loving families for children and youth in the foster care system. On Thursday, May 25, they are hosting the Día del Niño, day of the child, Gala at the Rotunda at Neiman Marcus. The event is chaired by Farah and Victor Makras, Brenda Zarate, and Jorge Maumer. Sonya Molodetskaya and Willie Brown are members of the honorary committee. The cocktail reception will include wine, champagne, small bites, speciality cocktails, music, auction, and raffle.

5 White Party in the Vineyard

If you only get out of the city one day, make it Sunday, May 28 and head to Livermore’s most luxurious winery, Wente Vineyards. From 1 to 6 p.m., they are hosting a party in honor of National Chardonnay Day. There will be wine, live music, and a picnic-style lunch with an assortment of hand-crafted food. Guests must be over the age of 21 and are encouraged to wear chic all-white clothing.
