Whether you are looking for a cocktail that is sweet, savory, stiff, or a combination of all of the above, here’s a look at five essential haute spots in Boston that you will want to add to your must-try list this spring.

1 Tokyo 75

Pabu
Is there really anything that pairs up better with a delicious sushi roll or any Asian inspired dish than a nice stiff cocktail? Meet Tokyo 75, the latest concoction to hit the menu at Pabu. It's made with Death’s Door Gin, cherry blossom syrup, grapefruit juice, yuzu juice, and topped with sparkling wine. The perfect spring refresher is shaken, served in a champagne flute and garnished with a maraschino cherry.

2 3 Shades of Rum

Davio's
When it comes to dining, Davio's may be best known for their enormous cuts of juicy beef and handmade pasta, but the after work bar scene is best known for its specialty cocktails like 3 Shades of Rum. The generous pour includes Gosling's Dark Rum, Captain Morgan Spiced Rum, Captain Morgan Coconut, pineapple juice, a dash of Vanilla Simple Syrup (or Vanilla bitters) and dusting of cinnamon. Combine it all and serve it in a rocks glass with ice garnished with a lemon wedge and you have a cocktail as memorable as the food.

3 Lion City Sling

Bistro du Midi
There's nothing quite like sipping on a great cocktail with a beautiful view to complement the experience. At Bistro du Midi, whether you sit on the patio for an al fresco cocktail or choose to enjoy it upstairs overlooking the Public Garden, Head Sommelier Todd Lipman has recently introduced a new menu of specialty cocktails. Try the sweet yet strong Lion City Sling made with Plymouth gin, VSOP brandy, cherry, Benedictine, pineapple, orange, lime and angostura. Lipman has fun with tradition by offering creative takes on the classics such as the Gee & Tee (St. George Botanivore gin, grapefruit essence, cinnamon & star anise tinctures, black pepper, tonic) and Paper Chaser (old port Indian rum, aperol, foro amaro, lemon).

4 Gorillas on Deck

Highball Lounge
One of the most fun cocktails you will have in Boston is served in a giant red Solo cup upstairs at Highball Lounge. You'll even have fun ordering the Gorillas on Deck, a kicked up not-too-sweet version of a piña colada made with Clement & Plantation Rhums, pineapple, lime and coconut. The rubber ducks are just an added bonus. (Even better, for every duck you add to your cocktail, they will donate a portion of the proceeds to One Brick, a community of volunteers that support local nonprofits).

5 Pear Martini

City Bar
At City Bar, it's all about the art of creating the perfect martini. Whether it's shaken or stirred, there isn't a better pour than City Bar where the martinis flow as freely as the Blue Hill mules, Mamacita Margaritas and champagne cocktails. Nothing says spring better than our cocktail of choice - the delicious pear martini served in a chilled martini glass garnished with a slice of lemon.
