Haute Top 5: The Best Art Galleries in Las Vegas in 2017

Intimate exhibitions featuring works by some of the world’s most compelling artists arrive at the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art. Past exhibitions have included “Picasso: Creatures and Creativity,” “Fabergé Revealed,” “Painting Women: Works from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston,” “Warhol Out West,” “Figuratively Speaking: A Survey of the Human Form” and “Classic Contemporary: Lichtenstein, Warhol and Friends.” Now on display, “I Am The Greatest,” a display of boxer Muhammad Ali’s career.

Sculptor Richard MacDonald teams up with Cirque du Soleil to capture the artists in motion. Find 50 bronze sculptures by MacDonald at his gallery at Aria and 20 more at the entrance to “O” at the Bellagio.

Landscape photographer Jeff Mitchum says, “There have been thousands of times that I have taken my pack with tripod in tow to a location only to watch the light fizzle in grey. Yet, I would still return time and time again until what was already captured in my heart was revealed in that magical morning or evening. Two of my favorite images, ‘Romancing the Light’ and ‘Three Brothers,’ are a perfect example of something seen with the heart before nature’s light show began.” Mitchum also has a permanent display of Sir Anthony Hopkins’ works among other artists.

Photographer Peter Lik decided to settle in Las Vegas, near the geographic formations he loves so much, in the 1980s. Now the artist has 13 galleries filled with his majestic landscape photography.
