As per usual, the 305 was going strong with parties and celebrations this weekend. With an influx of visitors from spring break and the holiday season, Miami’s nightclubs have been upping the game for night-long parties, meanwhile Miami’s greatest philanthropists gathered together for a night of giving back. Here’s the scoop on the highlights of this weekend:
GIANLUCHA VACCHI AT ORA

The Italian billionaire, famous for his headline-grabbing dance moves, made a special appearance hosting at haute nightlife destination, ORA, on Friday evening. The club was picked with fans eager to witness the legend’s signature dance moves and DJ set. The previous evening, he was spotted at Haute Living’s Ulysse Nardin dinner.
GEM GALA AT THE 1 HOTEL

Michael Capponi and other Global Empowerment Mission foundation members celebrated the organization’s second annual GEM Gala on Saturday evening at the beautiful 1 Hotel South Beach. The philanthropic evening brought out Miami’s best, as well as Haitian Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe, all eager to give back to the foundation that strives to help the world’s most devastated areas—particularly Haiti, in recent years. To honor one of GEM’s greatest success stories, honorary guest Kesny Philippe flew in for the memorable evening to speak about his experience through GEM’s assistance—Philippe was taken out of Port au Prince following the 2010 earthquake in Haiti and enrolled into private school in Jacmel, where he graduated at the top of his class. He will soon be heading off to college in France. The evening was well attended by notables including Commissioner Michael Grieco, runner-up in the Miss Universe Contest Raquel Pelissier, Consul General Gandy Thomas, Consul General Charles Forbin and GEM Board Members Peri Callimanopulos, Dr. Alison Thompson and Felicia Marquez/ The event raised more than $130,000 for the charity.
