Haute New Spot: Selfridges’ New Roof Deck Restaurant and Bar

While London isn’t in the running to win any great weather awards, the Brits sure know how to enjoy the few weeks of sun thrown their way. Selfridges is adopting some West Coast cool with a new restaurant set on their iconic rooftop. The Roof Deck Restaurant and Bar will play host to a multitude of summer activities on the new LA- inspired terrace.

The authentic Californian- style menu was created by Executive Chef Steve Tonkin (previous Executive Chef for the Soho House Group) alongside Head Chef Baran Baltaci (former Senior Sous Chef at The Ivy). Designed for light eating on balmy nights, the all-day dining menu features healthy salads, fresh seafood, seasonal vegetables and healthy grains.

Executive Pastry Chef Siobhan Ambrose (ex-Aria restaurant in Sydney and Scott’s in London) has created a stunning dessert menu. For a sweet taste of summer, opt for the Instagram-worthy lime and coconut meringue pie.

The restaurant will also double as an exhibition space, with artwork and photography from the likes of Andrew Kuykendall, Adam Rindy, and Roberto Badin amongst others. Undoubtedly, this is the perfect spot to drink, eat, party, and stretch out in the sun with central London at your feet. Selfridges, 400 Oxford St, London W1A 1AB
