1 Gnocchetti Sorrentina

The North End certainly has its fair share of amazing Italian restaurants to choose from when it comes to finding a delicious pasta dish, but one standout is found at Bricco. The pillowy gnocchetti sorrentina is a heavenly baked concoction made with bufala mozzarella and tomatoes topped with fresh basil. The delicate fluffy dumplings are melt-in-your-mouth delicious served in a tangy tomato sauce.

2 Penne Strascicate

Sometimes the best things in life are also the simplest like the Penne Strascicate dish at Toscano. This Beacon Hill favorite combines Tuscan meat sauce with perfectly al dente penne pasta. After just one bite of the simplicity of the beef combined with the fresh ridged pasta that clings the sauce just right, you will have difficulty not devouring every last bite.

4 Clams in White Sauce with Linguine

It’s all about colors, flavors and hearty dishes at The Daily Catch where seafood and pasta combinations reign supreme. Our favorite meal here is the tender clams served in a flavor filled white sauce combined with olive oil, garlic and clam sauce. Ringing in a close second and third place are the jumbo shrimp served in a tangy red seafood tomato sauce; and the tasty find of homemade black linguine with squid ink.

5 Cavatelli

The menu at the Bay Village Erbaluce changes daily, but expect to find some of the best handmade pasta dishes in town like the standout spiced up cavatelli made even better with the addition of chickpeas. Chef Charles Draghi’s Italian dishes reflect his French culinary training so we have come to expect the unexpected here. Another one of our favorites is Cacio e Pepe, a simple dish of spaghetti, smoked black pepper and shaved truffles. Pair it up with a bottle of wine from the all-Italian wine list and you will see why Erbaluce is continuously named one of Boston’s best Italian restaurants.
