The Pace Gallery’s latest exhibit, David Hockney The Yosemite Suite, will debut tomorrow in Palo Alto. The show features iPad drawings made by Hockney during visits to Yosemite National Park in 2010 and 2011. Hockney digitally drew the landscape as he experienced it and later experimented with large scale eight foot tall prints of the images. “We are delighted to highlight this ongoing series from Hockney which captures the majestic beauty and awe-inducing scales of this landscape we can call home. Northern Californians will revel in this body of work.” commented Elizabeth Sullivan, president of Pace Palo Alto. The Yosemite series will be on display until May 7.

Up in Napa, the Theoni Collection has opened a flagship design showroom at 938 Kaiser Road. The new space will display luxury event rentals: European china, locally made ceramics, hand-cut stemware, wooden farm tables, oversized candelabra, and lucite placards are some of the items you’ll find at the boutique. The collection was put together by Theoni’s founder, Betsy Stone, who has spent the past 40 years sourcing decor items for glamorous events. According to Stone, “Theoni Collection was designed with that unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime event in mind, where every single detail matters and the sky’s the limit. It’s a collection that feels memorable and personal—reminiscent of heirloom pieces in special china cabinets—allowing even a dinner of 200 to feel like an intimate dinner party that you dreamed up at home.”
