Quick Hits: Tennis Star Spottings around the City for Miami Open

The Miami Open is back again, just in time for one of the busiest weeks of the year. Between world-renowned DJs packing into Miami Beach and tennis stars holding court on Key Biscayne, Miami’s favorite hotspots have been frequented by some of the biggest names in the sport. Here’s a look at what they’ve been up to this week:

The Spaniard pair celebrated the highly-anticipated opening of their second TATEL restaurant and first U.S. location, at the Ritz-Carlton Miami Beach. Eager VIPs gathered in the space to be the first to try the restaurant’s authentic Spanish tapas-style bites, cocktails, and of course, to get a photo with the tennis pro and music sensation, who graciously made their way through the space and posed for some selfies to celebrate the occasion.

Female tennis star Venus Williams showed up to support Citi’s Taste of Tennisat the W Miami. Here, she put her culinary skills to the test as tennis personalities and celebrities were paired with top chefs to serve up some gourmet bites for the evening. She also spent some time in the DJ booth playing beats that got the crowd wild. Sponsors of the event included W Miami, Citibank, Lifeway Kefir, Vokl Tennis, Voss, Woodford Reserve and Chef Works.

The tennis legend kicked back with his favorite bubbly for a swanky cocktail reception at the new EAST, Miami‘s rooftop bar, Sugar. Guests enjoyed the stellar views of the sunset as they sipped on Moët Ice Imperial (which is exclusively offered in Miami) garnished with colorful fruits and vegetables as Federer made his rounds around the fête to chat with each of the guests and pose for some photos. He even got in the spirit of Miami Music Week and spent some time spinning with the DJ to get the crowd going as they all enjoyed a very special #MoëtMoment.
