Despite all the snow last night, stars and influencers came out for a special screening of T2 Trainspotting, a reboot of the original Trainspotting that became a worldwide cultural phenomenon. The event was hosted by The Cinema Society and TriStar pictures. T2 reunites the original players, Ewan McGregor (who played Mark Renton) Johnny Lee Miller (Sick Boy),  Spud (Ewen Bremner) with director Danny Boyle. You can understand why everyone pitched up despite the slush and snail-paced traffic–because Ewan, Ewen, Johnny, and Danny would be there (and who doesn’t love Ewan, Ewen, Johnny, and Danny?)

The plot inT2 deals with how the protagonists have fared after twenty years. Much has changed, but just as much remains the same. Renton returns to the only place he can ever call home. Spud, Sick Boy, and Begbie (Robert Carlyle) are waiting for him. Other old friends are waiting too: sorrow, loss, joy, vengeance, hatred, friendship, love, longing, fear, regret, diamorphine, self-destruction and mortal danger—ready to join the dance. The movie goes into release this Friday, March 17th.
