From his haven in the hills to his Hilhaven on the rocks, not many would disagree that Brett Ratner undoubtedly knows how to perfect his ‘craft.’ On Tuesday past, Megu’s modern-day Shangri-la played host to the Hublot x Hilhaven-hosted Haute Living cover release party celebrating the director-turned-distiller in proper [old] fashion.

The evening kicked off with a private cocktail reception showcasing signature cocktails such as The Hilhaven Lodge (THL) Highball, THL Rocks, and its namesake Old Fashioned. Shortly thereafter, guests sat down to a three-course culinary experience featuring Wagyu croquettes, sake-braised short ribs, and Matcha tea-smoked chicken courtesy of famed chef, Frances Tariga-Weshnak. The guest list ran anything but dry as VIPs from Alonzo Mourning, Sinqua Walls, and Harvey Spevak to Rohan Marley, Ronnie Madra, and Bradley Theodore came to toast to the occasion.

Mid-dinner, Haute Living Publishers, Kamal Hotchandani and Seth Semilof, alongside Hublot Sponsoring & Events Director, Capucine Huard, honored the veteran cover star, before Artist, Shawn Kolodny commemorated the affair with a bespoke 40×30 acrylic and resin mixed-media piece.

Made in partnership with Diageo, the award-winning Hilhaven Lodge is distilled from a narrative as storied as the 1927 Beverly Hills estate that precedes it. The sophisticated blend, made from three distinct decades of premium whiskey, culminates in a smooth oak finish that parallels its redwood-framed muse. A lover of all things vintage, Ratner’s palate is ‘proof’ he prefers his whiskey much like he prefers his home: aged to perfection.
