Last Thursday, March 23, Build hosted its annual gala at Pier 27. The Golden State Warriors were honored for their innovative spirit, leadership, communication, and self-management. “I am honored to receive this award in the name of one of my cherished professors and from an organization whose mission is so aligned with both my personal and professional values,” said Joseph Lacob, the team’s owner, of the Franklin “Pitch” Johnson Prize. “On behalf of the entire Warrior’s organization, thank you!” Notables like Joe Montana, Jack Dorsey, and Instagram founders Kevin System and Mike Krieger, were on hand to promote Build’s mission of using entrepreneurship to ignite potential youth and propel them toward high school, college, and career success. $1.75 million was raised at the event.

Berkeley Repertory Theater’s Tony Taccone will retire after the 2018-2019 season and American Conservatory Theater’s artistic director, Carey Perloff, has just announced that she will be leaving after the end of next season. Perloff will focus on writing a book and direct shows elsewhere at festivals around the globe. The search for Perloff’s replacement is already underway, lead by Peter Pastreich, the company’s current interim executive director. For her final season Perloff, will direct several plays including Harold Pinter’s The Birthday Party.
The Oakland Raiders may be moving to Las Vegas. Today, the NFL owners are expected to vote yes on Raiders’ owner Mark Davis’ desire to move the team to Las Vegas, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. The Raiders feel they will receive the 24 (of 32) owners’ votes necessary for the team to relocate in 2020 to a yet-to-be-built $1.9 billion, 65,000-seat domed stadium. The city of Oakland is scrambling to find a way to keep the team local, but has yet to present the Raiders with a suitable actionable solution.
