Fresh meats, made-to-order sandwiches and a matzo ball soup are the calling cards of a good deli. In New York, friends argue over the best. In Vegas, we replicate the best. For some of the best pastrami on ryes, check out this list of the best delis in Las Vegas. Your toes will curl with their sandwiches.

1 Carnegie Deli

Yep this is a replica of the original straight from Seventh Avenue in Midtown Manhattan. Aside from the New York attitude, you can find pastrami on ryes bigger than your mouth and matzo ball soup to die for. Carnegie Deli cures, pickles and smokes its own meats in house. Request The Woody Allen for a giant portion of pastrami and corned beef. This joint is open 24 hours, just the way a deli should be.

2 Stage Deli

New York deli favorites all make the menu at Stage Deli. Staples corned beef, pastrami and brisket take center stage, but check out the kosher hot dogs, lox and bagels. Make sure to order the matzo ball soup and New York cheesecake. Open from 6:30 a.m. to 3 a.m. Monday through Thursday and 24 hours Friday to Sunday when you need that after the nightclub pickup.

3 Bronze Cafe

Even vegans and vegetarians can get in on the sandwich game in Las Vegas. The Bronze Cafe dishes out a number of vegan and vegetarian sandwiches and dishes, include the The Tree of Life Pita Sandwich stuffed with vegetables.
The Center, 401 S. Maryland Pkwy.

4 Backstage Deli

Pretzel bread corned beef and patty melts donned in carmelized onions on marble are just some of the treats at Backstage Deli. If you can manage it, try the triple-decker sandwiches from this kosher-style deli. Backstage is open seven days a week and only closed from 6 to 7 a.m.

5 Greenberg's Deli

The Reuben here is legendary, a sandwich of corned beef, Swiss cheese and sauerkraut with either Russian or Thousand Island dressing and griddled between two slices of rye bread. At Greenberg’s Deli, they shave the meat right in front of you.
