Although you may not necessarily think of Boston as being synonymous with tacos, we have done all the work for you and scoured the city in search of some of the best in town. From delicious ahi tuna tacos served up with a waterfront view in the Seaport District to tasty barbecue specialties in the South End, here’s a look at five of the hautest tacos you should be eating right now in Boston.

1 Baja Fried Fish Tacos

Loco Taqueria & Oyster Bar
You could go a little loco with all of the savory options at this taco haven in South Boston. We recommend the blackened swordfish with grilled mango and fried pork version with habanero chimichurri, pico de gallo and queso fresco, but the real standout here is the Baja fried fish tacos that will have you thinking you just might be on the West Coast. This crispy version comes complete with charred jalapeno, sweet pineapple aioli, pickled cabbage, and avocado.

2 BBQ Pork Tacos

Tremont 647
Everyone knows that Tuesday night is Taco Tuesday at the South End's Tremont 647 where specialties include everything from their famed BBQ Pork with street corn, lime crema, cotija cheese, pickled jalapeno; and Buffalo Chicken made with blue cheese sauce and pickled celery to Korean Beef with ginger scallion relish and Tuna Tartar topped with chili mayo and cilantro served in a crunchy shell. The crispy Fish & Chips tacos made with pickled ramp tartar sauce and crunchy potato sticks will leave you dreaming of summer days by the beach.

3 Caramelos Tacos

El Pelon Taqueria
Sure, there are grilled chicken, braised pork and carne asada tacos stuffed with refried beans, onions, pickled cabbage, cucumbers and fire roasted salsa at this Fenway location, but the real specialties lie in the tacos de la casa, popular house favorites like the Caramelos with grilled steak and melted Jack cheese topped with hot sauce, salsa fresca and guacamole; and Pescado tacos made with cornmeal encrusted white cod topped with spicy mayo, "limed" onions, pickled cabbage and cucumbers.

4 Lettuce Wrap Ahi Tuna Tacos

Temazcal Tequila Cantina
You won't find a higher end taco in the city than those represented at Temazcal. Here, you can nosh on asada skirt steak tacos, grilled lime marinated chicken tacos and braised short rib tacos mechados. The standout at this Seaport District location though is the not-so-traditional, but oh-so-good lettuce wrap ahi tuna tacos with sweet mango salsa, black beans, crunchy tortilla strips topped with chipotle aioli served with a side of Mexican rice and black beans.

5 Breakfast Taco

Anna's Taqueria
Who said breakfast is too early for tacos? Not Anna's Taqueria. At this location in Beacon Hill near Mass General Hospital, you will find hot corn tortillas stuffed with your choice of fillings (eggs, sausage, potatoes), beans, cheese, and salsa. Pair it up with a side of Mexican hash to get your morning started right. Anna's has six other locations where breakfast is also available.
