As one of the most culturally diverse places in the country, you can expect Miami to make a good sandwich. Whether it’s a classic sub, an authentic Cuban or a gourmet baguette, Miami is filled with any kind of sandwich your heart (or stomach) desires. Here, we take a look at the five best, with a mix of a little bit of everything:

1 Halves & Wholes

Menin Hospitality
Menin Hospitaliy has decided to devote its newest South Beach joint to sandwiches. Yes, it is in fact, as amazing as it sounds. The gourmet sandwich shop also gives customers the best of both worlds: the ability to mix and match. So, for those of you who can't decide on JUST one type of sandwich, don't stress-you can choose two different types of halves to make up your whole sandwich. Although they're all mouthwateringly delicious, you can't go wrong with the Cheese Steak, made with Shaved Rib Eye, Jalapeño Jack Whiz, Provolone, Peppers & Onions, Crispy Onions, Sesame Baguette.

2 La Sandwicherie

The classic late-night sandwich spot is a Miami local favorite. Open until the wee hours of the night, perfect for your late night cravings, La Sandwicherie offers an assortment of gourmet subs offered on a crispy baguette or a flaky croissant. Favorites include the Frenchie, made with french Salami and Brie cheese, or the Italian, packed with ham, salami, prosciutto and provolone. But feel free to mix and match and add on a long selection of extra toppings to complete your personal special.

3 Cafe Versailles

You're not a true Miamian until you've tried an authentic Cuban Sandwich from Cafe Versailles. The world-famous Cuban restaurant is as legitimate as they come, serving up the best cuisine around. Obviously, the Cuban is a must-get; to be a real local, make sure to pair it with the cafe's homemade cortadito.

4 Zak the Baker

If you live in Miami, chances are you've had the famous Zak the Baker bread, as most of the city has jumped on board and is now serving up the famed bakery's signature bread at their own cafes. However, the true Zak the Baker deli must be tried, and of course the sandwiches are a must. If you're looking for something a bit different, the classic toasts (avocado toast, cream cheese toast, beet toast) are all fantastic, or you can go head-first and try one of the famous sandwiches loaded up with carbs, including The Reuben, the Tuna Melt, the Gravlox sandwich and more.

5 Crumb on Parchment

James Beard award-winning chef Michelle Bernstein has won over the Miami Design District with her upscale bakery, Crumb on Parchment. The vibrant cafe is located within the inside atrium of the Melin Building, serving up some of the city's best sandwiches. The spot is especially known for their breakfast specialities, so we suggest trying the signature Breakfastwich, expertly created with fluffy eggs, kale, sautéed onion, chicken apple sausage & melting cheddar between toasted butter-bread.
