On Jan. 7, Sean Penn, Sean and Alexander Parker and Bryan Lourd co-hosted the Haiti Rising gala benefiting J/P Haitian Relief Organization. The swanky soiree, which was held at the Montage Beverly Hills, was presented by Lynne and Marc Benioff, honored Paul Farmer, the founder of Partners in Health, and included a special tribute to Garry Shandling given by Jeffrey Tambor. Master of ceremonies Bill Maher had the crowd in stitches as he mocked Presidential-Elect Donald Trump, before an elegant dinner was served. A live auction had stars like Leonardo DiCaprio bidding on items like a classic car owned by Julia Roberts (DiCaprio auctioned off a Harmony Korine work and purchased an Ed Ruscha) while Courtney Love also bid and won on a private Pearl Jam concert. THE ART OF ELYSIUM’S HEAVEN GALA

The Art of Elysium kicked off their 20 year anniversary by holding their Tenth Annual Black Tie celebration, “Heaven,” the night before the Golden Globes on Saturday, January 7th at Red Studios in Hollywood. During the cocktail hour, guests sipped on Moet and Heineken and danced to the sounds of DJ Chris Holmes.  Under the direction of Marianne Lewis, the Unconditional Soul Choir performed the song “People Get Ready” as everyone headed to the dining room for dinner. For dinner, chef and owner of INK,Michael Voltaggio, prepared a sensory feast. While guests sat in the dark, Voltaggio asked guests to use their senses while eating. Before the food was served, he directed guests to put on their REVE sunglasses to heighten their senses – playing into Stevie Wonder’s vision of Heaven. During dinner, Art of Elysium founder, Jennifer Howell presented actress Camilla Belle with her “Spirit of Elysium” award and then Jennifer Howell, James Franco and Vince Jolivette unveiled their plans for Elysium Bandini Studios (EBS). Quincy Jones presented Stevie Wonder with the “Visionary Award” and after accepting he delighted guests by performing of some of his greatest hits, including: “You Are the Sunshine of My Life” and “Overjoyed”. Jennifer Howell wrapped up the evening by announcing John Legend as the 2018 Visionary. The British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles (BAFTA Los Angeles) celebrated the 2017 Awards Season with their annual Tea Party on Saturday, January 7, 2017  at the Four Seasons Los Angeles at Beverly Hills. The BAFTA Los Angeles Tea Party is one of the most prestigious events in the annual awards calendar, celebrating excellence in the craft, and wishing the best of luck to all nominees for the awards season ahead. Awards season nominees, along with leading executives, celebrities and BAFTA members enjoyed British tea and scones, and cocktails in the uniquely relaxed surroundings of a traditional British Tea Party. As well as honoring the year’s nominees and winners, the Tea Party also raises awareness of BAFTA Los Angeles’ wider work including its Access for All campaign, a commitment to ensuring that talented individuals are offered a clear pathway to careers in the entertainment industry, uninhibited by background, demographics or personal circumstance. The campaign drives funds towards BAFTA LA’s acclaimed scholarship, education and community initiatives, allowing the organization to discover, support and nurture talented professionals. As the 74th Annual Golden Globes concluded, Hollywood’s hottest gathered at this evening’s Weinstein/Netflix Golden Globes after-party presented by Moët & Chandon. As usual, HBO dominated Circa 55 at The Beverly Hilton post-show with as star-studded a fete as they come. A-list gal pals Sarah Jessica Parker, Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman met and mingled, as winner Viola Davis and Kerry Washington, while Chris Hemsworth, Vince Vaughn, Keith Urban, Sylvester Stallone and Eddie Redmayne filled the male star factor quota.
