2017 marks the Chinese Year of the Rooster, and more specifically, the year of the Fire Rooster, which occurs once every 60 years. The year of the rooster is a bit tricky, and one that requires much determination, hard work and loyalty. But it can’t be all work, no play, right? That’s why Hakkasan is hosting an extravagant month-long Chinese New Year Celebration with a special menu.
All 11 Hakkasan restaurants within the chain will honor the holiday, and Hakkasan Miami will offer the special menu from January 13th through February 11th, 2017, priced at $128/person. The authentic Chinese menu will feature traditional holiday offerings starting with the Fortune Tale served with crispy chicken, a traditional prosperity dish prepared tableside featuring roasted chicken, jellyfish and mooli. The dish is meant to bring prosperity and good fortune to the coming year. Following this is Hakkasan Miami’s famous Hakka steamed dim sum platter, brimming with mouth-watering dishes such as the Steamed Dover Sole with pumpkin, shiitake mushroom and ham in soya fish sauce, golden died rice with a salted egg and more. To cap off the feast, the beautiful Golden Feather dessert is presented, featuring delicious ginger panna cotta, mandarin and caramelized white chocolate.
Of course, the lavish feast isn’t complete without some decadent cocktails to go with the meal and Hakkasan makes sure that this is covered. Two special concoctions created specially for the holiday include the Waltzing Collins (Unaged Baijiu and Honjozo Sake, mandarin, lemon and grenadine), or if you’re trying to maintain your dry January, the non-alcoholic Waltzing Temple (chopped cucumbers, lemon juice, grenadine and mandarin juice). Both cocktails are beautifully topped off and garnished with a unique golden rooster, commemorating the Chinese zodiac sign.

And to add some good luck and fortune, the celebrations are made complete in the form of a Chinese Lion Dance. The live entertainment will be performed on Saturday, January 28th (the official date of the Chinese New Year) at 8:45 p.m., starting in the Fontainebleau lobby’s Bleau Bar. The troupe will make their way through the hotel offering symbolic expressions of luck, fortune, wisdom and joy, completing their route at the Hakkasan restaurant.
