Tom Gores’ newly-purchased $100 million-dollar mansion in Holmby Hills

BILLIONAIRE TOM GORES BUYS $100 MILLION HOLMBY HILLS HOME

The Holmby Hills mansion formerly owned by singer, songwriter, actress, and filmmaker Barbra Streisand now belongs to businessman and investor Tom Gores. Originally listed in April for $150 million, Gores purchased the estate for $50 million less than the asking price. The 30,000 square foot, 10-bedroom, 20-bathroom residence boasts privileged amenities that include a 10-car garage, an elevator, basketball and tennis courts, a private theater complex with its own valet entrance, and a private hiking trail.

BOB HOPE’S PALM SPRINGS HOUSE SELLS FOR $13 MILLION

The former abode of beloved actor and come-dian Bob Hope has made history as one of the biggest sales ever in the Coachella Valley area. The 23,000 square foot Palm Springs house―with six bedrooms, 10 bathrooms and two pools―was designed like a spaceship by architect John Lautner and built from concrete, steel, and glass in the late ’70s. The property was originally listed for sale for $50 million in 2013.

L.A. TATTOO ARTIST IS NEW OWNER OF FAMED “CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN” HOUSE

For $6.5 million, tattoo artist and cosmetic tycoon, Kat Von D, has purchased the three-story Victo-rian-style mansion where the beloved Cheaper by the Dozen with Steve Martin was filmed. The 12,565 square foot, 11-bedroom, 10-bathroom resi-dence, built in 1890, is located in Windsor Square in the Hancock Park neighborhood.

KATE UPTON, JUSTIN VERLANDER BUY CELEBRITY-STUDDED ESTATE

Almost-newlyweds, model-actress Kate Upton and Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander, have purchased their first home as a couple for $5.25 million. The residence in Beverly Crest was the former home to many different celebrity names, including saxophonist Kenny G, retired tennis champion Pete Sampras, film producer Jon Peters, actress Kate Jackson of Charlie’s Angels and TV producer-director William Asher. Built in 1976, the 5,706 square foot, traditional-style house has five bedrooms, six bathrooms, a tennis court and an outdoor swimming pool.
