Eager to try the inventive cuisine from Nobu‘s Chef Yung Ngo Hong, invited guests crowded into the mighty doors of the new South of Fifth hotspot and glided into the fête, where passed canapés and creative cocktails were presented for guests to try. And it definitely gained the seal of approval from Miami’s elite tastebuds, as the crowd mingled long throughout the night, filling themselves up with exotic sushi rolls and mouth-watering Vietnamese and Dim Sum bites.

Restauranteurs Alex Maufroy and Benoit Nanquette are the brains behind the operation, using their expertise and knowledge of the industry from former restaurant La Piaggia to bring something new to the area with a culturally rich menu and hip atmosphere, deemed to win over the Miami crowd. The pair additionally brought on nightclub owner Marco Vicel as a partner, creating a power squad in the food and beverage industry with a dip into the nightlife scene.

Following the opening event, the team was feeling confident and excited for the restaurant’s future. “We had an amazing turnout at our opening cocktail party and we are very grateful for all the support and positive feedback we’ve received. Our guests had a great time and the party continued much longer than the two hours originally planed. We are thrilled to open officially today and we have already received reservations through the weekend. It’s really overwhelming!” Vicel remarked.

Today marks the restaurant’s official soft opening phase and on January 1st, 2017, Now and Zen will be fully open for lunch and dinner, seven days a week.
