Jessica Alba Launches Denim Line With the Help of Her Squad

Actress Jessica Alba debuts the DL1961 x Jessica Alba Collection at the REVOLVE Social Club

How does Jessica Alba get by? With a little help from her (celebrity) friends, that’s how. Her squad was on hand to celebrate the launch of her new denim collaboration with DL1961, an 18-piece collection that she personally designed.

The Honest Company CCO focused on the most important elements of denim design from her perspective: fit, lift and support. There are a total of seven different fits, ranging from No. 1, a high-waisted skinny to No. 7 an on-trend flight suit.

Another important factor to Alba was the eco-conscious element of the brand. DL1961 is vertically integrated and implements production processes that utilize 50% less water, chemicals and dyes in the manufacturing of its denim. Additionally, developing exclusive fabrications and materials exclusive to the brand that ensure each pair of denim is not only made of the softest weaves but also retains its shape and fit.

Alba, who enlisted her girlfriends as fit models, says “We all want to have a great booty when we put our jeans on, but we also want to be comfortable. Details are everything when it comes to design, especially when it comes to jeans. That’s why I was obsessed with things like proportions of crops or the placements of pockets and zippers. If it didn’t make sense to me or my girlfriends, it didn’t make the cut — I’m all about the reality.”

All of said pals were front, line and center at the collection’s launch, which was held at the REVOLVE Social Club, where guests including Reese Witherspoon, Jaime King, Jasmine Sanders, Busy Philipps, Olivia Culpo, Molly Sims, Jamie Chung, Sara Foster, Chanel Iman, Shay Mitchell and Jhene Aiko were able to preview the new pieces. Over 200 guests enjoyed signature cocktails by Mamas Medicine and bites by Jon & Vinny’s, which were served throughout the space and on the rooftop deck. Attendees listening to beats by DJ and influencer Nikki Pennie. This was the first LA event for the brand and the first time LA guests were able to see the collection with Jessica first-hand.
