Haute Living Celebrates Diageo World Class at Bâoli

The week-long Diageo World Class Global Finals competition has taken South Beach by storm, with five days of back-to-back events, activations, competitions and celebrations for the annual event that draws in competitors and spectators from all over the world. With their hub at the 1 Hotel South Beach, the Diageo team and 56 of the world’s greatest bartenders have participated in the global competition leading up to the announcement of 2016 Bartender of the Year. To celebrate the long-anticipated event, Diageo and Haute Living put together a dinner party at South Beach hotspot (and the place to be on a Wednesday night) Bâoli, on their famous “My Boyfriend’s Out of Town” Wednesday night party.

In attendance was Haute Living CEO Kamal Hotchandani, Diageo’s Keenan Towns and Kainan Jasper, fashion designers Calyann Barnett and Fabrice Tardieu, NBA star Scottie Pippen, along with Janice Combs, Alicia Piazza, Joey Krutel, Dominique Siby and more.

Guests enjoyed sips of Zacapa Rum, Don Julio and Tanqueray as they danced to the beats of the lively party and mingled throughout the restaurant’s back garden space. Dinner was served later in the evening, where everyone indulged in some of Bâoli’s finest Asian-fusion offerings, including the Crispy & Spicy sushi rolls; Roasted Beets Salad; California Salmon Roll; Robata Grilled Organic Chicken with miso sauce; Robata Grilled Organic King Salmon with teriyaki and ginger rice; and Robata Grilled Ribeye, along with rich sides of truffle mac & cheese, mashed potatoes and crispy french fries.

Before dessert was served, a special presentation for Scottie Pippen took place in honor of the NBA legend’s birthday, which occurred a few days prior to the event. In typical Bâoli style, the waiters came out with a huge display of dessert platters and bottles of Don Julio 1942 and Zacapa Rum, all lit up by flaming sparklers. Everyone gathered around Pippen, clapping and dancing to celebrate his birthday. It was the perfect end to a terrific evening of close friends celebrating the week in true Miami fashion.
