Fashion Group International of Dallas Presents Annual Gala, Night of Stars

On Friday, November 4, 2016, Fashion Group International of Dallas (FGI Dallas) will host their annual Night of Stars at the Fashion Industry Gallery. This year marks the 67th anniversary for the globally recognized non-profit. Fashion Group International Inc. has over 6.000 members representing varying segments within the fashion industry. Annually it provides a high profile forum to promote people within the design world by hosting events that encourage educational programs devoted to fashion and to the study of fashion related businesses by awarding of scholarships, establishing internship programs; providing career counseling services and a viable platform for the exchange of ideas.

The Night of Stars is one of the most anticipated social events of the year and like all the previous years will be filled with a special list of high profile guests being honored for their achievements in art, fashion, jewelry and interior design.

This year’s gala is being chaired by Rachel Roberts and Britt Harless with Chuck Steelman acting as regional director. The special evening will include a reception, silent auction and a fashion presentation featuring Monique Lhuillier’s Spring 2017 Collection.

Past honorees of this prestigious gala include Lifetime Achievement Award recipients Linda Gray, Kay Unger, and Morgan Fairchild, Career Achievement in Fashion recipients Zac Posen, Billy Reid, and Prabal Gurung and Art Patron of the Year honorees Nancy C. Rogers and Nancy Carlson.

THIS YEAR’S HONOREES INCLUDE:

Monique Lhullier

Being honored for her work in fashion, Monique Lhuillier is recognized for her exquisite work in women’s evening wear and bridal fashion. particularly, bridal fashion. Since opening her first flagship boutique in Beverly Hills, Lhuillier has expanded her brand to include home furnishings, fine china, and handbags. She credits her global upbringing and cosmopolitan household with influencing her successful design career.

Lynn McBee

The Art Patron of the Year, Lynn McBee, has spent much of her life involved in numerous non-profit organizations throughout the city of Dallas. A tireless philanthropists, she is an active board member of the Dallas Opera, AT&T Performing Arts Center, TACA and past chairman of the Board of the Dallas Film Society, the Salvation Army of Dallas and the Board of the American Film Institute. Lynn is also a member of The Crystal Charity Ball, Charter 100, Dallas Woman’s Club and the Sweetheart Ball. She has fulfilled a role as a past president and ball chairman for the Junior League of Dallas and past ball chairman of the Cattle Baron’s Ball.

Jerry Hall

A fashion icon, Jerry Hall is a globally recognized model, television star and actress. This year she will be the honored with Lifetime Achievement Award. A native of Dallas, the statuesque blonde left home at the age of 21 to pursue a modeling career in New York City. By 1977, Hall had gone on the grace the covers of magazines such as, Italian Vogue and Cosmopolitan. With a successful modeling career, Hall decided to expand into acting and went on to appear in movies like  like Urban Cowboy (1980), and Batman (1989).

Allan Knight

With a goal of creating and inspiring through unique design, Allan Knight has been a fixture in the interior design industry for many years. Spending much of his career in the public eye, in 1999 he founded his brand and stunning showroom which represents more than 40 lines of home furnishings. As well as his work with other brands, Knight also carries three of his own including: Allan Knight Lighting, Allan Knight Acrylic and also the Acrylic Upholstery and Furnishings collections. Knight will be honored with the Career Acheivement in Interior / Furniture Design.

Sue Gragg

One of the most respected jewelers in the world, Sue Gragg has been creating exquisite private label and bespoke jewelry for over 30 years. She will be honored with the Career Achievement in Jewelry Design because of her in-depth knowledge of the diamond and precious stone industry. Her family owned atelier located in the prestigious Highland Park neighborhood, provides exceptional service and a personalized experience for all of the clients.
