For the first installment of what may be an annual tradition, DJ Irie has agreed to be roasted at the first annual JAX Celebrity Roast on October 22nd. Nothing will be off-limits according to Founder and Executive Producer, Jason Jackson, television host and courtside reporter for Miami HEAT telecasts. The event will take place at the EPIC Hotel in downtown Miami and serve as a fundraiser for the roastees personal foundation or charity of choice.

Single tickets start at 75$ and tables can run up to $5,000 for the priciest seating 10. Funds from the sales will benefit  Irie Foundation, which is seeking to empower at-risk youth to lead productive lives through cultural experiences, educational initiatives, mentorship programs and scholarship opportunities.

So it is in the name of charity that DJ Irie has volunteered himself for the hot seat for an evening of “no holds barred” verbal brutality and uncensored torment from a series of Celebrity Roasters who are lining-up to give a verbal licking to their much-loved hometown hero. Check event website www.JaxCelebrityRoast.com for confirmed names as they come in.

“I’m pleased to announce our debut of the JAX Celebrity Roast in October,” says Founder and Executive Producer, Jason Jackson. “Irie is not only a great friend, but one of our most idolized DJ personalities nationwide and South Florida’s icon of the entertainment industry.  His career has reached new heights but we think it’s time for him to take a tumble and meet his demise.  We couldn’t have chosen a more sporting character to kick-off our first annual Celebrity Roast, and we look forward to welcoming our celebrity roasters and audience guests to EPIC Hotel next month. We promise an evening full of comedy and plenty of blows below the belt!”

Following a celebrity and VIP red carpet arrivals ceremony, ticket holders, invited family and friends of Irie and the Foundation will enjoy a pre-show cocktail reception at EPIC Hotel, before being seated inside the ballroom as part of an intimate audience of 200 guests.  Premium level ticket holders will also enjoy an exclusive “Post Game” party in to the early hours within the hotel’s LILT Lounge.
