The Related Group‘s prestigious Fort Lauderdale property, Auberge Beach Residences and Spa, invited guests to a very special evening with guest of honor Susana Martinez Vidal for a discussion on fashion and art. Susana Martinez Vidal is the author of best-seller Frida Kahlo: Fashion As The Art of Being. Celebrity stylist and fashion guru Elysze Held moderated the discussion on the book and its roots and gave her expert insight throughout the evening on how Kahlo’s fashion sense and timeless style has translated into today’s hottest trends.

The stunning Meyer Davis-designed Auberge sales center provided the perfect setting for delicious light bites and sips of champagne as guests arrived to the event. Following the short cocktail, guests moved outside the property where the discussion was to take place. Right against the beautiful backdrop of the ocean and the breathtaking Miami sunset, guests were able to view the two fashion experts speak.

Previously the fashion editor for Elle Spain, Vidal is an expert on all things fashion and style and shared her longtime obsession with Frida Kahlo and how the original fashion guru inspired her to write the subsequent book. She explained how Kahlo’s vibrant and bold choices continue to influence and inspire the fashion world today, and those in the realm of creativity and expression. The audience enjoyed the short anecdote where Vidal shared that popular band Coldplay went to visit Kahlo’s home on a trip to Mexico. Upon arriving, the band was awed by one of the paintings in her home, which was a watermelon entitled Vida la Vida. This experience inspired the band to then create their famous hit, “Vida la Vida.” Guests enjoyed the gentle tunes of the song in the background when this story was shared.

The event was a great experience for Auberge buyers to indulge in a rich cultural experience with future neighbors at their soon-to-be luxurious homes, and for those interested to get a taste of the property.
