For the trendsetting “sporting gentleman,” Boston based New Balance has designed a stylish pair of sneakers just for him that Bostonians can sport before the rest of the world. Tomorrow, head over to American made outfitters Ball and Buck on Newbury Street and pick up the release of their newest kicks (available in-store and online), the 585 shoe, which will be available globally on September 17.

The Ball and Buck x New Balance Made in USA 585 “Sporting Gentleman” marks the first time the 585 silhouette has been used for a collaborative project. The 585 shoe pays homage its Japanese-designed predecessor, the New Balance 580, with a redesigned look that reflects Ball and Buck’s commitment to stylish American products.

The handsome shoe features earth tones (think hunter green and tan leather) accented by traditional plaids of heritage hunting estates. The new pair of shoes was designed for the guy with a sporty, contemporary style, who is looking for a sneaker with exceptional shock absorption, cushioning and stability.

The structural integrity of the original shoe remains intact, but the 585 kicks up the style factor by wowing with premium touches like leather on the N logo, tongue and collar strap. We love the signature plaid canvas on the vamp and collar and camouflage pattern underneath the gum rubber outsole. Whether he is a city or country guy, these earthy shoes are the perfect addition to any “sporting gentleman’s” collection. Be sure to check out their entire line of signature plaid products designed to complement the shoe that includes The Hunter’s Shirt, a plaid bandana, a merino wool throw blanket, navy upland jacket, active pocket tee and their premium waxed cotton hat.

The exclusive Made in USA 585 “Sporting Gentleman” retails for $238 a pair. Ball and Buck is located at 144-B Newbury Street.
