These 650 square-foot cottages are steps away from Mission Bay (literally, the beach is right outside your door). 3. A sunset cruise. A private 90-minute cruise around Mission Bay in the resort’s Duffy boat is the ultimate way to propose. Food and beverage can be ordered in advance through one of the resort’s restaurants, so bring on aphrodisiacs like caviar, chocolate and chili peppers! For those that like to think outside the box, there are a plethora of Marina activities to choose from including: sailing; kayaking; paddleboarding; jet skis; fishing; speedboats; and wakeboarding. 4. A sunset proposal. Paradise Point’s luxury eatery, Tidal, was recently named the best hotel restaurant in San Diego. The eatery offers a great selection of Mediterranean-inspired seafood courtesy of Chef Amy DiBiase, as well as craft cocktails, beer and wine.Set in what was a private beach house in the 60s, Tidal’s mid-century modern design draws from the era it was built by Hollywood producer Jack Skirball. A fire pit-dotted deck, a cozy lounge and an outdoor patio with heat lamps are all great places to watch the sunset, sip champagne and indulge in menu items such as olive oil poached halibut, oysters, chicken liver mousse, Venus clams (ooh la la), foie gras torchon, apricot-glazed pork cheeks and the wonderful fresh fish with squash and flowering herb butter that’s baked in paper and carefully cut in front of you.  Tidal is uncomplicated, laid-back and as romantic as you want to make it.
