RENOVATIONS

THE JULIUS TOWER AT CAESARS PALACE
The hotel celebrated its 50th anniversary by completely overhauling its oldest rooms, which reside in the original Roman Tower—now reborn as the Julius Tower. The $75 million renovation—part of a $1 billion investment—includes 587 new design-savvy rooms and suites, named to honor the iconic Roman statesman, Julius Caesar. Designed by Michael Medeiros of KNA Design, the classically inspired yet modern interiors are comprised of a neutral palette with hints of freesia yellow and Aegean blue. The all-new rooms combine textured and lightly reflective fabrics, creating a calm respite from the excitement of the casino. A custom-upholstered headboard acts as the focal point, incorporating bronzed framed mirror panels that add sparkle and reflection to the space. Further highlights include 55” TVs, luxurious Simmons Beauty Rest Recharge Bouvet Island mattresses, a specially-curated mini bar and English-themed Gilchrist & Soames in-room toiletries and amenities. The beautifully lit vanity mirrors are designed and inspired by a modern interpretation of an iconic Caesars Palace column, while some rooms feature a uniquely designed chaise lounge inspired by a Greek Klismos chair. They also feature custom artwork that combines photographs of Roman statues with artistic hand-drawn costumes meant to evoke the notion of a Caesars Palace-themed Vegas showgirl.

Las Vegas sees some of the greatest entertainment in the world on a daily basis with acts such as Britney Spears, right, who extended her residency at The Axis at Planet Hollywood through 2017, Jennifer Lopez, Celine Dion, Elton John and even Mike Tyson. The most intriguing new offering is BAZ — Star Crossed Love, a high-energy movie-music mashup as imagined by film great Baz Luhrmann. This generational cabaret, which debuted at the newly redesigned Palazzo Theatre on June 25, is an innovative theatrical concert that includes performances that pay homage to some of Luhrmann’s most iconic films: Romeo + Juliet, Moulin Rouge, The Great Gatsby and Strictly Ballroom.
